The SAT or Scholastic Assessment Test is a general test of verbal and quantitative reasoning for admissions to undergraduate programs of most US universities. The US based "College Entrance Examination Board" develops and administers the Scholastic Assessment test.SAT is published by the Educational Testing service and administered by the US based "College Entrance Examination Board".

SAT І is a daunting three-hour reasoning test that assesses math and verbal reasoning abilities developed by students throughout their school years. Students may also require taking up SAT II tests that primarily measures the knowledge of a particular subject. SAT II is a one hour multiple-choice subject test that tests the ability of students to apply their knowledge.

SAT evaluates a student's ability to process information and solve problems. The SAT reasoning test comprises of two sections: Verbal section Math section. The verbal section consists of reading comprehension, sentence completions and analogies. Students will require a lot of concentration in solving the questions. While solving reading comprehension tests students should not skip any introduction paragraphs or conclusions. They should thoroughly go through the comprehension and look for assumptions of the writer and the tone of the passage and try to solve all questions based on a particular paragraph. The math section consists of two 30-minute sections and one 15-minute section. Students will have to solve questions related to arithmetic, geometry and algebra. The problems are not so straightforward. Most questions will require students to answer in multiple-steps. Some problems are a bit puzzle-oriented and are constructed to test the ability to find solutions that require no calculations.
