History

Jim Corbett National Park was originally named Hailey National Park after Governor Hailey and was created on August 6th 1936. It was India's first National Park. later than freedom the park was renamed later than the Ramganga River and was name Ramganga National Park. The park was renamed over again 1957 later than James E. Corbett, who helped to arrangement the park and spent mainly of his time in the spot.

 

The spot of the park was improved in 1991 when the Sonanadi flora and fauna haven was added to Corbett National park.

 

The major Place (Bijrani,Jhirna & Dhikala) of Corbett National Park are closed from mid June to mid Nov for the monsoon period. Jhirna & Sitabani (Buffer sector) remain open all time around.
